27 Club and Virgin Dirt were the only songs I really enjoyed from this. This albums production was pretty awful and makes every song become almost indistinguishable from the rest. Now this new song has so many post production bells and whistles, I don't know what's more irritating.

Bad production for sure. I probably really would have liked Blackest Beautiful and I couldn't even make it through the entire album because of the mixing. I could at least make it through if the production was over the top.

Fake Histry being a fluke is confirmed by the new single.

Any further source of that re-produced link? I could be so into this record if it didn't sound so sterile...

TooManyFriends: It's not a bad thing, but I don't think letlive could deliver on that kind of stylistic shift.

I actually liked Blackest Beautiful a lot. It's a much more consistent listen than Fake History, even though Fake History's high points (Muther, mostly) are way, way higher.

I can get on board with that. The album as a whole is connected pretty nicely and their inspiration & groove shows in nearly every track, but yeah, definitely bigger & better tracks (agreed with Muther!) on Fake History.

i can get down to the new track, though they should have gone all out with the soul/funk idea instead of keeping it so peripheral.

The new song was so very meh. I keep wanting them to build on the Fake History sound and they disappoint me every time. Also, they're in desperate need of some rawer production.
