on my first playthrough I wasn't connected to the internet, no help whatsoever and nothing came close to ornstein and smough. When they finally kicked the bucket the sense of achievement was ridiculous. That bastard Capra demon still has the potential to cause grief as well.

Definitely when finding hidden stuff. I didn't have the first clue, plus summoning people in on the bosses helps massively compared to the uselessness of lautrec, solaire and the like.
