Yeah this was widely considered their most rushed and underproduced album, there are a few songs that arent that bad but as a whole this album was the worst thing to happen to AiC. Especially the song and video Heaven Beside You. Sad knowing the band sunk to that level of mediocre songs to what was recorded prior.

Heaven Beside You is the worst song they have recorded with Layne in the band. The entire song is a bad experience and there is never a time to put that on, ever. Well, maybe if you're shining bowling balls and just want to stare at the glitter on the ceiling at the alley, but other than that, the song is shit. Not even because Layne didn't lead vox, even if he did the song would still be shit. It's a bad riff, bad chorus, lyrics are ad nauseum composed of a myth combined with a figuritave loss, and it sounds like they recorded it in 3 minutes at a guitar center playing an Ovation, but recording it on a 85 rampage

I mean fair enough if you don't dig the songwriting, but this is definitely not a more commercial record than the previous two just for the fact that it doesn't have something as anthemic as for example "Man in the Box" and more than half of this album's runtime are downtrodden and morose sludgy tracks

I can see that but its not the songwriting alone, its everything about that song and the rest of the album, Frogs is the only good song rest isnt AiC doing AiC

And Greg Puciato just did lead vocals on some songs at that Jerry solo show in LA and I don’t think I’ll ever be more disappointed that I missed a concert.
