I'm reading the link and you bring up good points, but I fail to see what is the point of close
analysis of scores

scoring things, anything, is kinda silly when you get down to it, because you can't really translate
human emotions/thoughts into numbers

i just think the point of ratings becomes pretty dumb if everybody had a drastically different rating scale. if anything what would solve fishs little dilemma is if we just added .25 increments. that would help separate the albums we like (3+) a little better.
