"this is a dirtier, panicy money store and i demand everyone stop saying it's the worst"
you mean the same dirty themes that were presented on exmil or the same panicy themes that were presented on tms? lol. this isnt new territory in terms of dirt or panic. its simply dg trying a sound thats less busy than it was on tms. if you prefer a more minimal dg then youd prolly prefer this over tms or exmil. but youd have to be some kind of numb nuts who cant hear in order to not recognize the 'dirt' and 'panic' from their earlier albs

They have always been dirty and panicky, yeah. #noided
I will say that this album feels like their darkest to me though. Not that their other albums aren't. I just think this one is somewhat more so added to being obviously their most stripped back sound.

Ye, this is definitely their darkest album, in regards to both atmosphere and lyrical content.

it feels like these songs try super hard to sound dark though. whereas the darkness felt less forced and more natural on exmilitary. i mean shit, Beware is probably their darkest and most bad ass song. but certain people wont think so because it doesnt have that nasty distorted synth that you hear on Deep Web or No Love

Yeah that's true Mal, Exmilitary was far more brooding and felt really eerie as a result of its electronic subtlety.

I fear they might overdo it at one point

Beware is probably Death Grips's best track still.

On first listen, the new record sounded very forced and 'overdone' to a certain degree. I don't know what it is with Death Grips, but with more and more listens you kinda find yourself in a trance, hence why the apparent flaws aren't so apparent as originally thought.
