yeah illusion is one of my fav albums ever, perfect blend of hard ass riffs and great hooks. not many albums like that one. i played it so many times in a certain period of my life.

and gyro yeah i will have to check em out, it will be interesting to see what i think. vheissu is great but got a little too poppy for me and dropped a lot of the great riffs.

I dunno, I really enjoyed the more live sounding production on Beggars. Made it feel more alive and jammy in a way that is pleasant. Plenty of good songs on it as well. Defo their most "rock" album too, but in a good way if you ask me.

I enjoy everything from the first album to Major Minor. The trifecta of Illusion through Vheissu is unbeatable tho

Kinda feel like Identity Crisis is a bit unsung as well. Ultra Blue soars and Torch to End All Torches bangs.

Nope, the post hardcore bits of Vheissu definitely blow and are the weakest moments there, just revisited it. I kind of like it a bit on Stand And Feel Your Worth, but it mostly just sounds generic as all fuck to me on tracks like For Miles, Hold Fast Hope, Moths To Flame, etc.

I probably heard Vheissu for the first time in like 2012

It was so bad that I to this day have never heard another Thrice album that came after. It epitomizes what can go wrong when a band tries to be progressive

One of my favorite albums ever. Feels like it was recorded just for me. Nothing else Thrice has released comes even close to touching this imo.
