jeez tyler you're such a mommy...i love pth and hate this album, pretty understandable id spend a lot of time in this thread...here's my day...i wake up and at some point go on sputnik, look at my discussions and see follow-ups to my comments...since im really only interested in this and the new btbam right now, those are the ones i check...since so many stupid people say stupid things defending this album, i respond...and it's very easy to see why one would not like the vocal style on this and like the approach on kezia/fortress...hey 1337kellx you're a fucking moron...the simple fact rody doesn't growl or scream on this album (like at all) is enough to justify hating the vocals on this, or at least to merit saying there's a substantial difference between the vocal approach on this and on their previous two albums (along with how glaring his weaknesses as a singer are when he's not varying his approach)..please refrain from posting until you're less stupid...

edit: and yes, i was calling you out...

What's wrong with James LaBrie? :/

he's the worst vocalist ever (this isn't an exaggeration, i pretty much feel this way)...and i know he doesn't write most of the lyrics but dream theater's lyrics rival the likes of waking the cadaver and most country artists...labrie almost always tries to fill too many words into his melodies and sounds terrible lugging in all these words...just listen to honor thy father's lyrics and then listen to tandem's off this...awful...

yeah, some of the lines might be a bit off in that song but to actually make fun of the content is a pretty dick move. then again it's willfellmarsy.

I love how they've gone back to what they're good at on this one. It sounds like the album that they SHOULD'VE released after Kezia...not to say that Fortress wasn't good, but I just didn't think it was them.

Where it doesn't punch you in the face right away as Kezia does, Scurrilious really really grows on you.

Huge points for chirping both the Jonas Brothers and Down With Webster. God knows they both deserve it.

Well done gentlemen.

I'm so glad that caught on.

It's sad that willfell has a chronic case of it, tough.

I like his vocals. It seems that Rody aimed for vocals that can be easier for him to sing live... and I really love that.

And the vocals are less layered, so its even easier (for him) to do it live without any major trouble...

And I wish Moe could play like he used to, mainly in Kezia...... I hope he can recover that spark....

fuckin hate to hear some Fortress songs live because of the overlayed stuff that cant be sung by Rody..... I can ignore most of it, but Wretch is weird as hell live....

It is truly amazing how much this album grows on you, to be honest i was so upset when i first listened to it but after a few listens through you can really notice the intricacies of the album and how great it is, almost as good as fortress if not just as good for me

the first few times I listened to this,I thought it really sucked.

then I realised it isn't that bad and musically is pretty good.Yes,walker's lyrics are terrible imo(the only acceptable lyrics of the album are these that arif wrote, yet they're not remarkable either),but,in general, musically the album is increbidly technical.

I don't like it as much as kezia or fortress,no doubt about this, but it doesn't deserve the hate I gave to it in the beginning.
