I think this is set to remain the black sheep of KC’s first 8 albums

Absolutely. It's true that is a rather difficult work to listen to but, in reality, King Crimson don't have black sheeps in the 70's.

I don't think it is hard to liste to, once you got into. it takes you on a surreal trip that you have to be accept to be taken on, but in itself it is a well flowing and coherent trip and mindblowingly virtuous and creative at that.. Third best KC and total masterpiece!!

Really didn't dig much here outside the killer title track.

This is their most consistent album for me. All songs are killer, but none is an alltime great like Starless or 21st century.

This one is kind of geeky, ngl

Only stand out song was lizard. Thankfully the longest song was the strongest. No idea how this has an average 3.9 rating

I think this is a misunderstood album by the band. It's hard to get into it, but if we have patience, we can see that there's more than on its surface. "Lizard” is a very jazzy oriented album, very progressive and complex, one of the most experimental, bizarre, strange, creative, original, in short, one of the most innovative.
In my case, only after several years do I fully appreciate it. This is a unique work, in my book.

all the songs leading up to Lizard had very infrequent stand out moments. Some of it just sounding like a garage band just slapping their instruments. I think i will find it difficult to relisten to it. other than the very strong final song where they create actual beautiful music
