Mirage is a bit better, but it's real close

Lady Fantasy and White Rider are the best Camel songs but I prefer this album and Snow Goose over Mirage as a whole.

Showed to some peeps and they couldn't get past the production. They kept saying it reminded them of video game background music lol.

I feel the same about this particular album to a much lesser extent. Mirage though I can jam every single day (and I'm gonna jam it after I finish with Caladan Brood as it's next in line alphabetically :D). Probably because it's not as synth heavy as this.

As much as I hate to say it, the 70s prog aesthetic (synthesisers, vocoders, "spacey" sound effects),
begins to grate on me after a while. I'm perfectly fine to spin an album once, but not repeatedly.
Do you like Jethro Tull, Jac? They have very little in the way of those aspects that you mentioned.

Gryphon is a good start.

@Jac: Check out Horslips, they're prog folk with flute. You might also like Strawbs, no flute but they're another really good prog folk band.
