honestly Matt's ear for a good melody is doing so much heavy lifting with this band for me tho. Maybe it's not as instrumentally "there" but he's soaring with awesome melodies 90% of the time and the only albums where that falters are SAF, Temper Temper and Venom. you can have all the riffs in the world but if your hooks are flat that's what I'm gonna be remembering most of the time

I was quite harsh on this when it was released. My opinion on it has changed quite a bit. I now see this as a very good album. However, nothing they released after this quite has any qualities that this album showcases. Good album but like I said, everything afterwards never touched it.
