This probably isn't the classic I once thought it was but it's still a very solid 4.5. Played it to death so it's hard to return to but the highlights are still phenomenal. ANX was always the weaker of the two and definitely didn't age as well as this did

Sorry for the late reply(miss you buddy hope you are well wherever you are). yea definitely, I am right now. while there were times I would have been inclined to agree with both you and gyro in regard to this losing some novelty, i feel like that can be said for all of my 5s. that's what makes rating art so frustrating. what makes a 5 a 5 to me is difficult to put into words and is ever-changing. is every song a classic on this? no. is this a perfect record? probably not. though it is hard for me to answer those questions without comparing it to other surefire classics. is this on par with illmatic or lifestylez, no. does that really matter? I am not sure. I have lots of boilerplate takes and ratings. though, I also have albums/films/artworks that to me- and probably me only- are flawless, and it's usually due to replay value or simply, the cozy feelings they elicit. this project to me is a hard 5 and not because it's some hip-hop classic but because it encapsulates just about everything I love about the genre, and i do not think I will ever tire of it.

Its a 5 because it's cool and there's just not much else like it. ANX kind of waned for me but this held up pretty well. Both are still better than the last album they put out too.
