A 4.5 is a bit more than "quite good" Apollo.

having to stand through an hour of these guys made me realise how horrible this record actually is.

Had to endure half their set while waiting for Animal Collective to come on. Traumatic experience.

Come on guys, Timshel is the only bad song on here

Really? I barely liked any of them. The best part of the album was that tiny opening segment of 'Roll
Away Your Stone'. Still looking forward to hearing their sophomore album though.

Really? I'd stay far away from their sophomore album if I had this one at a 1.5 lol

And what about "Dust Bowl Dance"? Buildups aren't exactly rare on this album, to say the least (indeed, "Timshel" seems to use one just for the sake of having one), but DBD is downright epic. "I Gave You All", "Thistle & Weeds", and "Little Lion Man" are ace too

I dunno, they just don't do much for me. It's not that their sound is bad and I do like the vocals. What I don't like is the song structure and lyricism. Could all be different in their next release. =)

I wonder how they formed their band. =/
That's what has me boggled. A bunch of London guys just decided to make a blue-grass group.

My guess is that they were into folk, but wanted to bring it - and the banjo - to the masses.

I do have a grudging respect for this group for bringing banjo to the masses

You want to lower ratings because they are overhyped? That's silly man. Being overplayed sometimes has an effect, but ignore the hype.

I gave this a low score because it is the cuntiest thing I have ever heard

Let's pretend that's what he did. =|
I mean, yes; that is certainly what he did Davey.

A piss poor, insulting, aggravating, gimmicky "folk" album that takes every single cliché I hate about today's "indie" folk music into one disaster of an album. I feel bad for this only being the second album I've given a score to, and it's another low one. But Helplessness-Blues was still better then this album in every single diverse way. I usually do say that my opinions are opinions alone. But this album is objectively bad and is targeted towards pop listeners who've never been exposed to any folk music. At all. I can't even express my hate for this album. It's like Nickelback with acoustic instruments. Boring and uninspired.
