awesome jam but as an individual song i believe dancing with the moonlit knight is better and maybe watcher of the skies

Tony Banks makes this album.

If there had been a more Hackett on this, I think it would be an easy five for me.

I think this album has some of Hackett's best moments. I've always liked how tasteful his contributions are and I think this album in particular is exemplary of that.

His presence is not as obvious as it is on other albums, but always tastes great. The title track basically has no hacket aside from those weird tremolos... I think lol.

I still think this album is one of his best performances.

Yeah, I would certainly agree that he's tasteful.

He rarely if ever overplays. I'd argue for the later.

There are some songs on here where he barely plays or just flat doesn't play, like Colony of Slippermen for instance.

he was always under used but in a way it makes his parts even more special when they do come around

Gave this another go, let's see how I feel once I'm done.

The Snow Goose had a similar approach to this album, although that one obv had no unifying lyrical theme as opposed to this one.

Both albums are mostly made up of brief songs that might not feel like much on their own, but when jamming the full albums, make a lot more sense.
