Adam was arrested for a DUI. Insert obligatory "decade under the influence" joke here.

don't think much of their last 4 albums, but this and tell all your friends are both still excellent

Many of the songs were recorded before he was even 18. It's raw, honest and unclouded with naivety.

Now that he's older, probably has worked with tons of great producers, vocalists and other artists he probably cringes listening to this thinking it's worse than nails on a chalkboard.

I think it's a great performance but I can understand why someone now in their 30's cringes when they hear what they sounded like at 17 with little to no experience.

Yeah I see that. It is also probably frustrating to be confronted with the fact that your musical career may have peaked at 20 yrs old

So they did peak with that record career-wise, definitely, since a number of the songs on it are the bands most successful to date (I even remember hearing Liar Liar and MakeDamnSure on the radio a number of times), but I find it strange because everything after that (which I find strange because New Again was very similar in style) became very irrelevant.

Well Sink Into Me got quite a bit of airplay if I remember correctly, but yeah I agree, it was kind of weird how quickly they fell off.

Scenes come and go. Most of what is popular one year will be unpopular the next. Just like fashion music comes and goes.
