Does anyone else finds the sibilance on vocals unbearable? I mean, I try to give it a spin after 20 years or so and man... the tremble on "sssssssss"s is eating my ears!

Then I'm pretty sure your ears are too sensitive. Or maybe your equalizer needs some finetuning.

I have 3 pairs of headphones. Audio Technica M50x, Beyerdynamic DT770 pro and Marshall Major III. Sibilance is certainly a problem with this album as on all 3 pairs it's hurting your ears. And i don't finetune the equalizer. It's almost absurd playing with that when you have good flat headphones.

Mainly, it is the disturbing sound of the letter "s" that cuts through your ears or the very high treble on cymbals. It's more clear when u listen to music through high end headphones because their crispier sound makes it much more prominent. In the case of Crimson, it is so obvious on Dan Swano's vocals that u can hear pretty clear, even on Youtube versions through laptop speakers, that when he pronounces any "s" there is a production involved sibilance problem.

I don't mean to offend anyone, the opposite, but sibilance is a very common subject of discussion in hi-end sound forums. Imagine that sibilance can be caused by bad cd-lp pressing.
