I mean, the real classics post was kind of a convoluted bad joke, but eh.

I say bad things about stuff I don't like for the same reason I say good things about stuff I like: Because I can and I want to. Pretty simple.
Also, Trifolium is right, everyone is allowed to criticize me and I'm allowed to criticize everyone.

“convoluted bad joke“ what does that even mean
|
| |
If you know what the words "convoluted", "bad" and "joke" mean you already know the answer.

But since you want a criticism of ur stance fine.
The paragraphs you posted revolve around the idea that the Beatles were only popular because they were a commercial success. That in reality they merely reflect the trend of having a 4 man white band with “mediocre musicians” (not true by the way)
But why is that formula so bad as you say? Is it cuz it’s a slap in the face to “real musicians” or are the “real musicians” too snobby to accept progress? I’d say the second option.

You know, I once hated the Beatles for being an overrated pop band.
I stayed true to my words about them being lame. But then something happened.
I stopped being a miserable douche who hated a popular band because they are popular.
That's just my story though, i dunno about you guys.

By the way Rocky Raccoon is a fucking jam

I didn't ask for it but ok. Of what progress are you talking about? The Beatles weren't innovators, they were 4 not very remarkable musicians that became famous thanks to people that wanted money. Simplistic music with little to offer but nice melodies is a fairly accurate way of describing The Beatles' music (except for a few things here and there).

@Minushuman24
Cool story, but I can't relate.
|
| |
" The Beatles weren't innovators" true but they were less derivative sounding than many of the bands of their time.
|
| |
Yes, that is correct.
|
| |
Have you heard like 3 Beatles songs ever?
|
| |
Yes. I've heard more than just three, actually.

One of my favorite parts about the Beatles is the imagery and variety. Every song puts ur brain in a new musical universe.
And calling the Beatles simplistic is such a cop out! Such a surface level judgement of what they were about. It like u are listening to the loudest instrument in the mix and acting like that is the whole song. You do realize that 90% of Beatles songs have layers upon layers of filters, instruments, synthesizers, and other pleasing sounds? At the very very very surface of the Beatles music lies a basic message. And you know what’s great about basic messages? They are universal.
|
| |
It’s like saying “I don’t like bread cuz it’s too basic, I only eat caviar”
|
| |
Please don't tell me you're talking about lyrics when you say "basic messages". Anyway, great, they're universal and a lot of people like them, so what? I don't care about that. Oh, and if you think the Beatles music isn't simplistic you haven't listened to a lot of music, at least you aren't say their music is complex.
|
| |
Beatles were only great after rubber soul.
Stop fucking assuming what I listen to just because I’m a Beatles fan!! “Ur a Beatles fan you must only like basic music hurdur”
What do you listen to, math-hipster-core?
