agreed it's rare that older albums actually need remastering, eight times out of ten it's purely a moneymaking exercise

well i agree but a lot of them are recorded really low. not that I'm a fan of the loud mix but i think some albums need a little louder mix. not brickwalled like say death magnetic or 13

yeah, usually they just max out the compression, tag some demos on the end and add a shitty new cover before releasing it for twice the price

i actually think 'rougher' produced albums from the 60s/70s/80s hold up a lot better now than the 'well-produced' ones - to me, this sounds a hell of a lot more heavy and punchy than sabbath bloody sabbath despite the latter technically having better production
