when? It's not first in-line, but it certainly does hold a strong place in the queue, lol
I'm coming around to forgiving those moments of woe experienced when Peking freaks out

I'm optimistic about your eventual 5.0 for this. We'll see. Also I'm patient. Also also I might 5.0 this soon anyway.
Yeah those Peking O moments ahahahah I'm almost hearing them as we type.

I think it's because despite some hectic passages this is actually quite a chill journey for me, even during those 'busier' segments. It has a certain languid jam feel which aids those strong psych elements. Aumgn's percussion explosion is a great example, as I feel perfectly at ease regardless of the intensity building.
Peking O starts off fine, then just ruins my vibe during the freak out - I can almost feel the anxiety seeping in

Oh yeah I totally get that sense of languid chill. It's a very relaxing album. Busier music can sometimes have that effect (RE Ascension). Don't have as big of a problem with Peking O as you do but I understand what you mean. That section does stand out a little here.

>Can anyone rec any artists / songs that are like Aumgn or Peking O.?
it depends what you're looking for i guess, as in what specific similarity to these tracks you have in mind
a lot of krautrock and adjacent music will have these bizarre or unhinged moments but usually they tend to last a minute or two as opposed to ten
if you're just looking for something generally trippy and weird then kraftwerk first two albums, cluster first two albums, tangerine dream first two albums

Underrated album considering it invented alternative rock.
Anything by Klaus Schultz, Amon Dull, Sun Ra, or Cluster’s first album.

Can is the German version of VU. Banana Peel, White Light/White Heat, S/T, and Loaded are responsible for the next forty years of alt music yes. I think this is the album that really solidifies the sound of things to come.
