His first 14 studio albums are, in general, the best, with some masterpieces.
This is my opinion. But I can respect that you dislike them, which is, you dislike Bowie. It's all fine to me. We don't necessarily have the same tastes, which is fine too.

His singing in the first 14 were mostly not my cup of tea. There would be good music and then his singing brought it down. Sometimes he sounded good. On Let's Dance he was consistently good for the first time for me

I love bowie because he had a fearlessly flawed, human voice. But it was also very emotive. It's not classically "good" like an opera singer or whatever but if I want to FEEL what someone is singing, I pretty much always go to bowie

So he likes Bowie's deeper register

I think Wild is the Wind is my favorite Bowie track. Either that or Rock & Roll Suicide

Let's Dance, Tonight and Never Let Me Down show him playing to his vocal strengths. I dont just prefer his lower register but when he is not inching towards a voice Crack. Almost halfway through Never Let Me Down and his singing is so much better it is night and day. He sounds great. Even less impressive songs have overall better music that is not odd for the sake of being odd, but creates melodies and a great mood.

God but the writing on Never Let Me Down is so bad, even if his voice is good

Maybe if I read the lyrics from his earlier work to this i would notice a huge drop, but with his singing being better I just feel less blood oozing from my ears so I am comfy

But the guitar, piano, sax, general rhythm and melody? That stuff is all better on his 1969-1980 stuff

I did not find much interesting melody outside of his big hits. For his 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th album i am going to give those another shot because I heard those in the car and not on headphone. Albums 7-14 are most likely only getting one go round with me. MAYBE I will give them another shot to see if my view changes on some songs
