I've heard some songs from that Gospel album in the past, and I'm not sure I could make it through an entire album of that. Also checked a few City of Caterpillar songs earlier this week cuz it annoyed me that so many people were voting it over Parliament and had the same reaction as to Gospel, but even worse.



Checking the opener to The Underdark right now and...this isn't even screamo, it's just like mellow post-rock. I guess it's one of those unassuming openers, meaning that I need to check track 2 as well.



From the beginning, I hate the vocals on "Collapsing", musically it kind of reminds me of an Incubus song, but I guess minus the hip-hop elements. Probably not a good comparison, but it was my first reaction to that guitar line. Finished the song and holy shit don't make me double down on my original opinion, what the fuck was that?

its fine if you dont like screamo but its cathartic appeal is extremely obvious

within those bands, Orchid/CoC>>>>>Gospel>>Funeral Diner, so at least your pain transmitters have a vague idea what's up

I'm definitely on team Ars here, haven't ever heard a screamo album that I enjoyed.



Just really dislike the sound/vibe-combo they usually go for. Which is fine of course, you don't have to like everything.

I can get down to some screaming, in moderation, especially in a noise rock context (Boredoms, Brainiac, Mclusky, Pixies) have all dipped their toes



Ween oddly has screamed before on their debut album lol, check “You Fucked Up” lol



Oh and I guess I do like Ministry’s stuff up to Filth Pig, though my favorites are rarely the heavier ones
