S/t is stellar but doesn’t quite hit the same highs that this one does

Every track here is a high. Some highs are just a little higher than others.

Rome Plows and Golden Brown are both classic bangers, but yeah Luau as tops isn't even an argument for me
Should jam this again, it does everything right but never packed the same emotional heft as my genre favs (performances are obvs passionate, but this always landed as a very Let's Just Do Some Cool Jams album)

luau is iconic cos it makes me thinks of overly serious businessmen in suits walking into a hawaian themed restaurant and drinking cocktails with those lil umbrellas

'performances are obvs passionate, but this always landed as a very Let's Just Do Some Cool Jams album'
without knowing any further outside context, I get that sense with 'Wrong' by NoMeansNo more-so than this. I just happened to be listening to it yesterday and that idea fits perfectly. Those jams are eternally cool, but my love for it refuses to expand in ways I wish it could. The emotional resonance is stronger here, for me (not peak, yet strong enough to push it into the upper echelons of noisy, post-hxc type stuff)
I'm not necessarily comparing the albums beyond this wider point btw, just a thought I had

been meaning to revisit Wrong for a while now - remember it being a huge record for what it goes for, but also passed it by at the time for precisely that reason. didn't feel like it was the right time for it to be a personally important record, and i wanted to do more than just respect it
this bangs hard af for the most part so commitment issues aren't exactly a dealbreaker, but it does leave me a little cold on Do You Compute + backend of Super Unison in particular i cannae lie

Wrong is huge but it not being on spotify means theres almost 0 chance of me listening to it again because convenience is king

instant argument for why being dependent on spotify is bullshit

I am usually the same because ugh laziness, but I do have some select cuts downloaded elsewhere. I added to my stocks the other day because not discovering certain things due to these limitations was getting on me wick
It takes a little time and effort (my laptop is slow!), so I generally save a 'batch up' before considering this

I do something similar, I keep a lil list of stuff not on spotify and I'll occasionally clear it by dling stuff on the list via PC and then transferring it over to my phone, which is what I end up using for like 90% of my music listening these days. Wrong is currently on the list
