There are some who think it's depressing. It's got that tinge of melancholy to it that some people consider beautiful, and others mournful.
It's probably down to the song originally being a ballad. A slow dirge sped up into a four-to-the-floor dance song was obviously going to carry that into the final mix. But I defy anyone to see it live and tell me it's a downer.
