and i mean that, this has all the elements to be great but it lacks teeth, and that becomes evident with every new play, its still an amazing record but something is off

Giving this another spin, I'm still not feeling genesis tbh. It's not a bad track but it pales in comparison to the rest, Ceremony, Urantia and Error are hard 5s

Those were my standouts, it's only my second listen tho. Whole album is fucking awesome, probably their best, I love it

Idk about their best...but I'm all on board on this as much as the early ones.

I'm not listening to form an opinion, I legit enjoy this album, gave me a good Deftones kick. It's been a while since I got in the mood for these guys and it's one of the bands from my childhood that I still love. The Deftones and Rammstein
SNW was always my favourite Deftones album, i think this may just top it, it's really good

Snaps is sex

They are weak, I feel like the metal clan of sput gloobers their khakis over it just cuz it's the closest thing to some kind of sultry tasteful jazz snap passage they've ever heard while in reality it's just a cheap imitation.

I imagine it's kind of like when metal bros discover a metal band who uses a stand up bass or a tabla or something for 5 seconds and they are like "wow my third eye"
