@theBoneyKing

replying to your post up there, is that not how it works here? I'm pretty sure anyone below 60 IQ can figure it out. *kisses*

I would pirate a ton of music in high school but when bands I liked or were being hyped on here, I would buy CD's at Best Buy without hearing anything beforehand and it was a cool experience. I have two music moods: listening intently with an album or casual shuffle. I make a new playlist every year to serve as a time capsule for that year and just fill it with things I find -new and old- in that timespan. It's cool to go and get the memories flooded back.

As for Brand New, I got into them from Not the Sun and Archers. Deja is a massively overrated project imo. Not the Sun and Archers I think do the dignified pop-punk thing really well and are a good place to dip your toe into the water for just how dark and moody Devil and God are. Devil and God sits atop their work pretty comfortably for me, but Daisy and Science Fiction are amazing pieces in their own right. All have specific moods for me. I am a bit curious for what they had going on before settling on Science Fiction because it seems like tit was a different direction entirely. Love Science Fiction, but it does not seem like an album that took eight years lol

I got Pale Folklore, Mantle, and Ashes in the same tier but have such a special spot in my heart for the mantle. It was my first....pretentious metal album and is kinda responsible for my music nerdery as a whole lol

Pretentious? I wouldn't go that far. But can you tell me this? Name one sentence on The Mantle that tops this:

"There lies a beauty behind forbidden wooden doors, a beauty so rare and pure it would make human eyes bleed and burn"

I'll be here all week, take your time hun.

I'll personally take Shadow of Our Pale Companion or Great Cold Death of the Earth's lyrics lol Mantle is such a vibe and they have much better command over their peaks and just know when to time all these little flourishes. Have a ton of love for Pale Folklore tho

Jesus Christ you're old. You better put these zoomers in their place from experience in life. Although they won't listen, but at least try!
