Dave's songwriting more than makes up for his mediocre singing. When you add in the top notch instrumentation and compositions, the singing becomes a non-factor to me.

yea, he said he wanted Megadeth to move towards a more aggressive sound and that he'd rather have been playing straight pop music than the pop-influenced metal Megadeth was playing at the time
