Yeah, disliking Destroyers is bizarre. Seems like every release after the debut was is a logical variation on the same basic style. Essentially more of the same, which is good in this band’s case.

the riffs and songwriting on Destroyers are amazing as usual, but the production always left a bit to be desired for me. it's so dry and thin. it doesn't have quite the same ethereal, all-encompassing atmosphere that Shrines and this do. Even EiF, though similarly dry, seems to have quite a bit more atmosphere created by the tones, ambience, feedback, etc.
