Soco Amaretto Lime was cool in ninth grade but the irony is that anyone who is legally allowed to drink alcohol typically busts out of its laughably juvenile sarcophagus of sad boy 'no one will ever love me and i don't wanna grow up' bullshit !!!

I want to agree with you re. Soco, but you've just summarised this band's entire early career there and it seems a little cruel to dunk on the one song will the recently dropped constantly chafing sadboi balls to vaguely own it

perhaps in theme but not so much in tone ~ they might be eternal soys but at least they can cook up some liveliness and/or angst and/or buoyancy and/or DARE I SAY aTmOsPherE (?!) where its most often warranted. needless to say i don't like them at their absolute mopiest, see also: The Seatbelt Song 🤮

even many of their other generally lowkey / tranquil / slow / emblematic tracks at least exhibit a maturity in songwriting that was not present for these guys at the turn of the millennium.

stuff like "While we walk around this town / Like we own the streets / And stay awake through summer / Like we own the heat" and "I'm gonna stay eighteen forever / So we can stay like this forever / And we'll never miss a party / 'Cause we keep them going constantly" is legitimately untenable .

eh, makes me nostalgic for a certain ~feeling~ and certainly not a lyrical opus but good memories

loved it in the past, love listening to it still in the present

plus this album has the lyric "at the bottom of the ocean, the fish wont judge you by your faults"
