I agree with the In Rainbows point Zak it’s kind of my favourite and the one I go back to the most but OK Computer can’t not be the best for how groundbreaking it was at the time. I was on a ten hour flight the first time I listened to OK Computer, bought the cd at the airport and had it on my Walkman on repeat the whole time being blown away.
I just don’t feel The Bends as much. Maybe it’s because I heard it after OK Computer and the bar had been set for that style of their career. You can certainly see why they changed so radically because they could never top OK doing a like for like style.

And the biggest gap is after Amnesiac, so yeah The Bends isn’t in the upper echelons when I think about Radiohead albums. Maybe I just listened to it a ton in my youth, moved on with OKC as my ‘go-to’ and never looked back (eventually digesting the initially confusing but ultimately life-changing Kid A). In theory I should have some sort of nostalgic attachment to it, yet a few of the the rockier tracks just leave me cold now. It was absolutely an important album to me at one point though, I cannot deny that.

I love the Bends, but I love 90s alt rock. I can see people who enjoy the bands more abstract/non-guitar aspects the most not really liking it for that reason.
