Fun fact: "Pink Cellphone" transitions more smoothly into "Combat" if you lop off the outro

Pink Cellphone isn’t the only problem imo, I’m really not crazy for Xerces, it’s fine, just don’t *love* it. And then there’s Mein, which would be a complete snooze if Abe wasn’t kicking so much ass behind the kit. It’s kind of insane that these guys got Serj on a track in fucking 2006 and they both turn in the laziest moany vocals on the entire album.

Aside from that tho, man there’s so many good tracks and more than a few are among their best ever. Hole in the Earth - Rapture - Beware is such a killer mood setter. Just three insanely different tracks that somehow go together so well. And really Combat - Kimdracula - Rivière is also an amazing way to close it. There’s just some trouble in the middle.

Also I do really love the borderline death metal riffage on the bridge of Rats too, that part always puts a smile on my face, abe fucking shreds during that part too, dude is seriously one of my favorite drummers and is so underrated.

I simply don't understand why people seem to find Mein boring, it's honestly one of my all time favourite songs. A dreamy, psychedelic, heavy wall of sound that sounds like nothing else I've ever heard.

I guess it’s just what you want from a song like that yknow? I’d def prefer something a bit more wild from that combo, but I get what you’re saying. Even still, I just find it really bland

I'd say it is considerably weaker than most of the other tracks here but it isn't a bad song.

In all fairness to the band, they haven't ever penned a particularly bad song throughout their entire career. Off the top of my head I can't name a track that I hate/dislike.

Mein has the most swagger on the drums on this record for me to ever dislike it

It was the first single I discovered off this record when it came out and seeing the music video in FYE and it’s well-done. Even if the vocals are not as energetic, they’re still expressive in the intention and within the high energy riffs.
