Agreed but I still like it a lot. Just a well executed concept album with extended acoustic prog songs. Two ideas that have been done before but still well executed here.

I’m not head-over-heels for Dark Side of the Moon either but I get it, this just leaves me confused.

Combination of intense lyrical cynicism with the almost apathetic presentation ("ha ha charade you are") captures the kinda cog-in-the-machine-nothing-you-can-do-about it vibe they were going for imo. They also pull off long-form songs without them feeling too segmented, so it just makes for a really smooth, easy listen despite the subject matter. Sure I don't think it's the best album ever or anything but it's several cuts above most prog.

How can you not get hooked by the intro of Pigs? Sounds like a classic horror movie theme too.

Pigs is a fantastic hook yeah, and then Dogs knocks it out of the park. One of the hardest 5s around

The ending of Dogs is epic - brilliant lyrics and a good punch on the vocals!

I just don't know how I quite feel about Sheep. I think it's that track that prevents me giving a 5. Still an amazing album, though.

Sheep's grown on me a lot over the years, I prefer it over Pigs now - although it does better in context of the listenig to the entire album whereas theoretically I've listened to Dogs & Pigs as standalones a million times. Sheep is sort of a release of a lot of tension you didn't realize was building this entire album, where the prol wrecklessly create anarchy after hanging the dogs bu dunnununun bu dunununun bu dununun nun nun.
