I think going back and listening to more classic heavy metal really made me able to appreciate these guys. All the melody and over the top solos I used to think were cheesy are now awesome.

Agreed. Underappreciated band in the grand scheme. Kind of pissed on their legacy the last few albums for sure but man they were good in their hay day.

Yeah I guess they finished on a decent note. Looking back through their discog, it was Blood drunk and Relentless that jumped to mind. And they absolutely blew. I didn't connect with anything after Are you Dead Yet really though. It's the early stuff that crushed for me.

They had a couple mid albums. Most bands that make that many albums have a couple. That said you're missing out if you like their old stuff and haven't heard halo or hexed. Especially halo. Check that shit
