I used to not like trivium.(but their guitars were always great). but heard some of the stuff of this album and i thought it was pretty good. i have yet to hear the rest. but anyways im glad they didnt keep up with the whinny baby emoish vocals because more bands do that now and its lame. but i dont know... maybe it is a lame rippoff lol. The vocals are not "emoish". It's called screaming. Lots of metal bands do it and not all of them are necessarily metalcore either.

I laughed when I saw Matt with his new haircut on the cover of some guitar magazine (guitarworld or guitarone maybe?). So Metallica gets their hair cut and they get mocked - Trivium grows out their hair and get laughed at. Gotta love the way the world goes 'round.

While they are somewhat similar, the melodies are different enough to where its not that big of a resemblence.
To be honest its only a few songs in which he sounds kinda like him imo.

Heh, I saw a video of an interview with him and Lars a little while ago and he actually a huge pussy. He was all like "You know, when you guys kicked me out? That hurt. You were like brothers to me... but you hurt me". I rofl'd pretty hard.
They fired him hours before a gig and handed him a bus ticket to take him from New York to LA. I don't care who the hell you are, that's fucking cold. They didn't even warn him that such a decision was pending. As far as Dave knew, they were prepared to forgive and forget some of his mistakes.
Of course, it also doesn't say much about Lars that he made sure the editing made Dave look as bad as possible. (sigh) Lars you crazy motherfucker... Learn how to play the drums.

Catchy choruses made to be radio friendly, riffs that are all but plagiarised, pseudo-intellectual lyrics about war and other similar topics, minimalist drumming (big switch from Ascendency), bass practically vanishing into the mix, and so on and so forth.
