Probably best hip-hop LP of the year here? Gotta take this over Tyler, Bino, Kudi, Q and Em, anything major I’m missing? Also really enjoyed No Hands but I feel like being a lighthearted throwback puts it in a different category.

one thing i admire about this era of kendrick is him successfully creating huge mainstream BANGERS without the use of trap beats.
feel like mainstream hip hop in 1988 doesn't sound like 93 doesn't sound like 98 doesn't sound like 03 doesn't sound like 08 doesn't sound 2013 but feel like its been more or less the same trap sound dominating mainstream hip hop since 2016ish (and more or less all the same artists too lmao)

2000 was a really solid album imo... though i kinda hate that he called the album that. felt like he was nostalgia act-ing himself.
kind of crazy considering how hot he was in the mid-2010s that he's dropped just one album in the almost EIGHT years following aab (which iirc dropped the same day as damn to put things into perspective). dude disappeared and kinda killed all his momentum in the process.
