Serj is a sclerotic old man at this point that just phones in each performance because he needs money. It's so clear to everyone within a 100 mile radius at these concerts that he can't be bothered to put any effort into delivering an engaging performance anymore. He is a shadow of his previous self, that's for sure.

Yo Pika, if you listen to Lost in Hollywood and say that isn't a good voice then I dunno bro.
I swear it's so weird to see the criticism of mezmerize and hypnotize. It has their best songwriting, hands down.

I'd like Mez/Hyp better if they just took the best cuts from each and had put out a single album. Seriously nobody needs She's Like Heroin or Old School Hollywood

Idk why but I always assumed this was released before Toxicity. This felt like the building blocks for a masterpiece like Toxicity

He was even super lame back in 2011. One of the most boring bands I've ever seen live too. Only thing that made the show good was the audience. He's also a horrible vocalist.

He was very good live in his prime (up until 2005/2006 basically), but then he decided to change his vocal style. Not only is his on-stage presence dull as shit now, he also sings in this hyper-whiny mickey mouse-esque voice with none of the grit and rawness of his early years so he's just terrible.

I can see that when you got from s/t into Toxicity and STA and then Mez tbh.
I am a but younger. When I listened to Mez it was my first SoaD and I thought it was craziest shit that was possible. I didn't even think something like SikTh ir the s/t album could exist back then

you know whats up dave m/
i wouldn't slander the other albums to put this on a pedestal though, they're all fantastic records.
Toxicity was my first exposure to metal overall. Must've been christmas 2003 because I still remember getting it as a christmas present and being blown away.
