I'm sure there's some naturally thick tones but a lot of albums these days need more than 2 guitar tracks to sound full.

Venin, Vulgar Display and all the other Pantera albums were on solid state amps, not tube amps. That was his whole sound, along with the scooped mids. I don’t know anyone who thinks that guitar tone is good, either.
