i kind of understand both perspectives on this grammy thing but at the same time watching celebs have entitlement tantrums just really doesn't tug my heard strings that much personally

at least his tantrum is consistent with the entitled psycho image he's built for this album cycle

This is the same guy who wrote about his frustration from getting a nickelodeon award or smth on Reminder. Why the fuck does he care about the Grammys so much

You just know if Cardigan Backyardigan jumps to your defence you doin it right
Alternatively, you just know if Nickiffer Minajatrois jumps to your defence you goofin' it

great point. I've always thought that shit was fucking goofy. Like "hey i have this great idea i'll be dressed all suave but i'll be beat up it will be sooo cool" how fucking played is that shit by now, also no one thinks ur hard Abel, ur Canadian and you make alt-r&b, ur a lot more likely to date-rape someone than to throw a punch let's get real

Noooo, she didn't really give af about the Weeknd lmao (from what I saw, anyways). She just instead complained that she never got the "Best New Artist" award back in like 2010. You know, the mythical career-destroying award.

i didn't get the recognition that i demand and am entitled to 10 years ago wahh

the music videos are actually kinda interesting. he straight up goes Michael Myers and murders a bunch of people immediately after performing on Kimmel
the whole thing is obviously inspired by American Psycho, Joker, etc. and I dig it. there's not enough theatricality in pop music these days
|
| |
how did he manage to draw inspiration from Joker without getting cancelled

the point isn't that he's supposed to look cool or hard, it's kind of the opposite. in the video for Blinding Lights he gets his ass kicked because he's acting like a drugged-up entitled creep and that's why he gets the bandages.
I'm not going to pretend any of this is super deep or intelligent, but he's playing a character and there's definitely supposed to be a message behind it.
