Yeah that was probably top 3 for me as well. If I had to compare overall quality I'd say that Starmaker's top 2-3 tracks beat all of new one and the bottom 2-3 of new one are below all of Starmaker, but the mid tier of tracks are of generally similar quality overall.

new one is an easy 4 with potential to grow, I need to sit with it and see what really sticks with me

If you don’t at least like Crystal Heart and Heaven Knows I will consider you truly lost.

Crystal Heart and the 3 songs before it form a pretty good run. Heaven Knows and the closer are weak

If you liked this at a 4.5 level and are not a silly goose like C*lton, you will like the new one.

Hm you might like it more? As I said before it’s a bit closer to a standard country rock vibe, albeit still a pretty similar songwriting style, but it doesn’t have anything near the cheese level of say “Suzuki Dreams.”

Suzuki Dreams was top three on the last one ;)
So far I like ‘The World Moves’ and ‘Crystal Heart’ the best but early days
If the last album had that cosmic starry night vibe this new one has this ‘last barroom band in the sky’ thing about it - a lot of the more conventional songs still have this hint of a dreamworld lurking behind
As I said before this is almost as much a distinct ‘vibe’ album as the previous one….but if I were a mean person I might have trimmed a couple of songs maybe

That’s a good top two for the new one Doof. And I love Suzuki, just noting that one does have the cheese factor the highest.
