Yap time is indeed the best for most things I suppose.
I listened to some shitty/ limited music in the past...Now I'm impressed by a lot of things in music, mainly the way some bands break some boundaries in the genres (that were way more stiff in the past, like little clans)...and by that I'm referring to old and new music.
Whenever I'm listening to something I tend to lay my guards down and be kinda submissive towards the artist's intentions (uff not to be interpreted sexually) - and I think that is an awesome tool to appreciate and take the best out of any artistic display.

osmark is frighteningly similar to me with his ‘indifference’ level (2.5-3) ratings, I just opened 3 threads in a row & noticed our ratings were all the same, haha

I've seen ratings ending friendships here.

''Scheumke is a dude. made a point that wasn't well received, took the feedback like a boss and clarified. sput points to you good sir.''
Kinda sad that you get points these days by acting like a human being on the internet, but thanks anyway ;)
In other news, listened to Vektor by your recommendations. Stuff in there that I really like, stuff there that I dont (yet). Will keep listening to see how it grows!

Bands don't like to be pigeonholed into one specific genre or sub-genre do they?

I always felt a little sorry for the jam bands. It must be a soulless existence. Then I saw how much they earned for e.g. playing 10 U2 songs and now I don't feel sorry for them anymore.

are you talking jam bands or cover bands now mate?

Yea , thinking cover bands too.

| |
Album Rating: 3.0
because yeah, being a cover band you're essentially a less accurate speaker. totally soulless, but it will get you gigs.
jam bands aren't my thing, but jamming out is and there's a lot of soul in having a good jam out with your fellow musicians improvising and just generally fucking about. 100% soul.

I’m pretty sure Alex Lifeson of Rush said stuff on their records were essentially created because of jam sessions. Awesome.
