logical and well-reasoned, you've changed my mind

the fact there are bonus tracks points to a departure from older albums / i think the conflict that fuelled the band's music prior was so important / they could only produce ten or eleven songs so the album had to be cohesive and complete

Are we posting Underoath rankings?
Disambiguation > DTGL > LITSOS > TOCS > Changing > Erase Me > Cries > Act of Depression

our ratings are the same except i'd switch DTGL and LITSOS Disambiguation is pretty much perfect

Shame that Spencer thinks it's too weird, because it's such a near perfect album

wait what has spencer said about it?

He basically said Disambiguation was too weird and that nobody wanted to hear that, which is wack

Sounds like they tried to 'Radiohead' their sound.

Spencer confirmed for ruining the band. Disambiguation was their peak. DTGL close second.

I enjoyed a few elements of it. Mainly the electronics and ambients by Chris but take that away and the parts that I like felt like a retreat of past outing. It's a subpar TOCS where the catchy pop punk-issh post hardcore elements are poppier or almost mainstream rock-iss/butt rock/industrial rock. I probably won't jam it ever again even though Sink Me and the opening was enjoyable. Maybe if I was 14, I would've. Still haven't got my hands on the bonus track since I'm not from America and we don't have Target here.
Anyway, watched the documentary and man...Spencer sounds like a miserable mother fucker. Telling off fans who wouldn't like this record and how their opinions don't matter as well as insinuating that Disambiguation is their least favorite album (to make as well as how the final product is bizarre)/not themselves.
Also since we're ranking their discography:
Disambiguation > TCOT (Alone in December and When the sun sleeps are masterpiece! Fight me) > LITSOS > DTGL > Cries Of The Past > A boy brush red and Walking in front of your doorstep > whatever else.

This is fine and It Has To Start Somewhere and On My Teeth are awesome but the lyrics on this are weirdly nu metal quality.

Lyrics generally boomerang for artists from what I've noticed. They start immature and amateurish, then improve as they find their voice and gain knowledge of subjects to speak about, then regress after they've said all that they have to say and just rehash old ideas.

Yea Spencer was having an existential crisis for three albums straight, makes sense that he’d move away from that.
Guys try mixing Sunburnt and Unsound into your playlists, they work surprisingly well
