definitely seems like some friction between anthony and the other guys..hopefully they're back making new music in a few years though.

Hard to feel to upset about it until they officially give word that they're breaking up. We just got a new album from them (basically) so I was expecting to wait another couple of years for new stuff anyway. Hopefully they work out whatever is going on by then. I'm hoping that they'll at least release the latest EP's as a full album with bonus tracks from their unreleased work. A lot of those tracks deserve to be out there for everyone to hear.

I mean hopefully I'm wrong but I don't think I'm too far off. The patreon post (by Colin) heavily implied they weren't planning for the band to go inactive and that it was with zero notice. Brendan and Colin unfollowed him. Also in his insta post about his new band Anthony before he edited said something to the tune of "it's exhilarating getting to make music with people I haven't made hate me yet". And this is all after they cancelled the BSN tour primarily for Anthony's health..then when he gets out of rehab he releases a solo album and solo tour as well as starting his new L.S Dune band.
Granted, this is all pointless speculation. They've been through rough waters before and hopefully they sail through it again.

Alcest Spiritual Instinct
Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged
American Football American Football (LP3)
Heir Apparent and Doom in Full Gloom represent this band at it's finest, and the album as a whole
is beautiful and fulfilling. My personal AOTY so far.
Aphex Twin Selected Ambient Works 85-92
Arcane Roots Melancholia Hymns
Still need to give it more spins, but overall, I think it's an incredibly solid record with plenty of interesting ideas and a great sense of musicianship.

Circa Survive The Amulet
This is pretty much what I call a "logical evolution," and it's probably Circa's greatest effort.
I enjoyed the leak, and I enjoyed it even more in high quality. Premonition of the Hex is also
GOAT.
Circa Survive A Dream About Death
Probably their most adventurous effort to date. It's a mysterious, alluring, groovy and beautiful EP that perfectly complements the first one. Some of their best music is here.

On one hand, I am super happy for Anthony. He really seems to be going through a creative renaissance at the moment with the sheer amount of quality projects that he's been involved with. He arguably put out his best solo album ever, LS Dunes is shaping up to be an incredibly fun post-hardcore-ish diversion, and TSOAF are always a good time and have no reason to suspect the new album won't be any different.
On the other, can't help but feel for the band. Both Dream EP's weren't my favorite projects of theirs, but they seemed to signal a willingness to experiment that had been a little absent from Circa for a while -though their albums always rule. Especially so seeing as how the band has stuck with him through everything in his personal life and he seems to be giving them the cold shoulder right now. It's a touchy subject because he's not the only with drug issues in the band and every needs to do what's best for themselves.
Cautiously optimistic that them putting this statement out begins to mend the relationships so they can get back together one day, but if this is the end it was one helluva run

It's not that surprising, but it still hurts ya know? Loved this band for like 16 years now... so it'll be weird without them around. Hopefully it's actually a hiatus and not an actual disbanding. Sucks either way.

Who invited the jackass to this thread, lol.
Bummed but not surprised by this news. I have hope that they'll come together again relatively soon though. We just got new material so I don't think I'll really be feeling this hiatus for a couple of years. They better put some of their unreleased songs on Two Dreams as bonus tracks because it would be a crime to keep those locked away forever.
