Last two minutes of Walk it Back are great, but I'm not sure about the section before it.

Yeah the whole 'walk it back' chorus gets a little pushy, but once that melody kicks in with the soft guitar and strings, it becomes well worth the wait.

I like the 'too high in the mix/almost spoken word' delivery, plus I really like the contrast between the two voice samples in the following section, pretty funny

i really enjoyed the voice samples, added a nice element.

At first you think it's just a typical preachy 'deep message' sample, but the second one w the dude talking like references the first one as something that was written on a whiteboard. And he seems to be speaking of it rather sadly, like he can't bear the burden of being one of 'history's actors'

I'm having a hard time with Walk It Back, as well as the title track. I feel like they're just on the verge of clicking though and when they do I'll finally be able to rate this.

I see the first voice as quite positive and evangelical about what she's saying...and the second voice really cynical and dismissive, ripping the quote to pieces
Might be wrong, I don't understand it but I like it. Also the word 'empire' linked to 2007...'Fake Empire', 'Boxer', 2007?
Can someone clear this up?

I know, Doof! also in Fake Empire when he says 'making pie..' Pi= 3.14, which is what the average for this should be

Just found an article about it...it's something that was said from someone within the Bush administration. It scared the shit out of Berninger, its about political control.
The final two lines the second voice say are Matt's made up addition, his 'fake news' as he calls it

I like it but ultimately it's probably the weakest song they've put on an album since Sad Songs.
