I'll admit that Say Yes to Life has really grown on me.

Say Yes To Life isnt cheesy at all to me, I can see why people think that but it succeeds in everything it aims to be

If any song on here is cheesy it would most likely have to be Persevere, those gospel vocals feel a bit out of place for me

I know its just one track but Persevere is so bad compared to everything else here.

I wish this thing wasn't so bloated, it could have easily been cut down to 11-12 tracks.

Persevere is my favorite track on the album. It's such a gut punch and the lyrics floor me every time. I want to agree that it could be shorter, but I'd have a hard time saying which tracks I would want cut.

Persevere is awful and that's coming from someone who likes good music.

The whole damn album is gorgeous, something about it shakes me and I'm even more touched to find more people shaken just as powerfully in different ways by GoY. Look I have no clue who would read this, but its an album that I haven't stopped talking about for almost a year, and album that still excites me to listen to and inspires any other art I try to make. Personally it has such a large effect for so many reasons, Dave growing up in the same streets as I have, and personal experiences with cancer. But mostly I resonate with it musically. The theme the whole album creates through its content, the meaning behind his words only amplify his voice in to my mind and the instrumentals shape a scene. It all feels like its molded together so beautifully and through that I constantly feel like the whole album takes me to a setting that Dave is trying to create, as if he impressed his own reality on my mind.

Persevere is substantially better live. There's a cathartic back story to the song.
