If you’re wearing nothing but keep your spectacles on are you truly naked? 👓

My friend listened to a few songs from this, Refuge reminded him of Beck and The Same Asylum As Before made him want to hear Rocket Man by Elton John.

I’ve been playing this a lot the last month or so. Closest thing to PT I’ve heard from him, I’m sure not done on accident.

I remember seeing an interview Wilson had where he spoke about the benefits of working in a band versus doing his own solo work and one example he gave of the creative freedom he has for his solo stuff was that he was able to explore some jazz influences, whereas people in PT weren't exactly crazy about that particular idea

He's basically confirmed a few times that Porcupine Tree have at least one more album to come. Who knows when, though. If they do return I really hope Gavin Harrison is playing drums. The live performances from 2005-2008 or so were my favorite live performances of theirs. An incredible amount of talent in that version of the band. They just clicked.

Still need to jam this.

Really liked Same Asylum As Before, though.

@Eons There's an article on Prog-sphere from March where he completely shuts the idea of a PT reunion down.

PT is definitely done, anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves. Wilson's many responses to those questions this whole past decade should be more than enough evidence of that. His solo stuff is a logical continuation of where PT probably would have gone anyway. Listen to The Incident and then Insurgentes back-to-back and it's pretty obvious, at least to me.

I’ve resigned to the fact that PT’s done. The last time he was asked about PT, it was the first time he literally used the phrase “it is finished” in regards to its status. I’m a realist and it’s sad to hear, but such is life.

He literally said it's more than likely they have one more album in them. He doesn't seem like to be the kind of guy to just say stuff to be nice and please fans. So I'd believe him.

Huh bizarre that he's now said that there is a new album likely to come, and then he said no reunion. Maybe he meant not for right now. I didn't read the article, I don't know.

The structuring of Detonation reminds me of Domino by Genesis

I still think the last movement drags Detonation down.

Every now and then I get tired of Rock and Metal and that's when I come back to this. Love it, great songs! The title track grew on me a lot, the electronics at the beginning remind me of Deadwing
