Igor is fantastic

the vocals are iffy but I dig the underlying melodies and early 90's synthwork he throws here-n-there. post-pharrell r&b-hop.

I'm loving Igor so far
|
| |
Definitely don’t love it but it’s not the total bust I thought it might be from intro->”earfquake”. Tyler knows how to string together songwriting pleasures but sometimes in a hard to describe way they all sound like the Same Pleasure to me. Hard to say where it’ll end up

has a similar vibe to what Solange went for. obv not surprising since Tyler has writing credits on that too.

Final track is so perfunctory lol

half of the tracks on IGOR feel really empty, like they were 1.30 min demos stretched into more standard track lenghts or that they took 3 different demos and frankenstein'd them into 1 song.
that's fucking lazy.

"earfquake" is soooooo weak, puts me in a bad mood for the rest of the album

I am the opposite, I really enjoy IGOR. Now is it better than Flower Boy... I don't know yet.

he killed it with the percussion sample on "new magic wand"

the most perfunctory indeed

I stand by using "perfunctory" to describe the last track. I think it's intentional but it sounds like tyler doing karaoke or something

it's a precise adjective for the whole project tbh...not many moments at all on Igor for me
|

I have a feeling IGOR will be his most polarizing work.
