Ha, Halfway Right is one of my favorites here.

Still underrated as fuck

Anyone keep reading the album title like it's that Daft Punk song or is it just me

Now all I can think of is an entire collaboration album between Linkin Park and Daft Punk

I see I’m not alone.

This is their worst album, but yeah, it’s still underrated. The t/t is a top LP song.

Liked it when it first came out, gets a little better each time for me when I come back to it

I need to revisit. Haven’t listened since soon after Chester’s death.

I applaud the restraint of the label to not have capitalised on Chester’s death with a greatest hits album or some shit.
Seems the sort of thing most would do.

Talking To Myself, One More Light, and Sharp Edges are not bad. One More Light is actually really good in fact. But the rest of the album is forgettable at best for me. A lot of the production just doesn't sound unique to Linkin Park. Bands change and I'm completely fine with that but this honestly sounds like someone took some abandoned pop instrumentals from the early 2010's and put Chester's voice over them.

For some reason, I seem to be the only person who thinks Halfway Right is one of the best here. Nobody Can Save Me, t/t, Invincible and Battle Symphony are other highlights. Sharp Edges is ok. The rest is a bit forgettable.

Halfway Right is a favorite of mine partly due to the lyrics. It feels very personal to Chester as it addresses his addiction issues. As a veteran addict (off and on) for 20 years, I think it just really speaks to me.

I’m honestly not sure how What Are You Worth escaped my attention, but it’s certainly worth a google search for those interested in an OML b-side that leaked last year. It’s effectively a mash up of the sounds of MTM and OML.

Yeah the lyrics of Halfway Right are definitely personal, but I just HATE the delivery of a lot of it:
*I screeeeaaaaaaaam at mysellllllllf
When there’s nobody else to fiiiiiiiight*
It’s just so whiny, seems so beneath Chester’s ability to really deliver something more close to home - we’ve had literally tonnes of angsty LP material that does this far better.

Dude, I LOOOOVE the delivery! Chester is absolutely one of my all time favorite vocalists and performers so maybe I’m biased. I just don’t hear it in the same way that you’re typing it.

All good tho brah! Agree to disagree.

Haha yeah man, agree to disagree
And tbh it’s the same here - Chester is THE vocalist of my music. A lot of my upbringing and generation is his voice at the forefront, it’s not common I dislike a song of his haha

Chester, MJK, Cornell, Layne Staley, Chino Moreno, Trent Reznor — those are some of my favorites.

Keenan and Chino are certainly up there for sure m/m/m/m/
Aside from that I’d probably say Serj Tankian in his prime, Sting (Police only), Ben Howard, and Lindsey Buckingham

Nice picks man. I’m also a big fan of Billy Corgan as a songwriter, but he’s kinda iffy as a person and singer (I’ve been accustomed to his singing and have been listening to the Pumpkins for 20 years, but I can’t say he’s one of my favorite singers).
Love Pete Loeffler and Dustin Kensrue as well.

Duuuude I was so damn close to adding Dustin too haha, seeing him perform live was a dream come true
