It's all religions because the rest of the song is about all humanity

Thanks for the clarification. This album still sounds like total shit.

I grew up in a pretty staunch Christian environment and haven't totally abandoned that, but I don't hold lyrics like that against him. People are free to question things, and express their opinion. 'God of Love' is a lot more bitter towards the Christian faith IMO, as he name-checks Jesus and calls him out repeatedly: "you've got the gall to judge us"..."try something less ambitious the next time you get bored"...etc. Still, I find most of the religious sarcasm here amusing even at its worst, same with the political musings.

I was raised religious and I have decided on my own that it isn't very important to me, but I think it was a fine way to grow up. There's some value in it. Dunno if I'll raise my kids that way, but yeah.

"sorta curious if you wanna explain"
The bible is a collection of different stories by different authors written at different points in time. It was put together many decades after Jesus' death by a group of men who chose which stories go into it.
There is also evidence that they didn't really want stories in which Jesus prioritizes women over men.

There's definitely value, because it inherently teaches you certain values and traits that make you a stronger person. But more importantly than raising someone with a certain religious mindset is to teach them the difference between right and wrong. Too many people now blur the lines under the guise of "having an open mind", and some kids grow up thinking anything they do can be justified - which just simply isn't right. There's definitely something to be said for growing up in a secular household as well - it allows you to find value in life without the contingency of some potentially unattainable, posthumous reward. Usually leads to people pursuing more out of life because they don't expect a second one.

My thing is, if you believe there is some higher power, believe it. There is not enough evidence for or against it.
If you want to follow a religion that was organized by humans many centuries ago, well do some research first before you start citing the bible/quran as "fact" or whatnot.
