yea a bad album is a bad album but if it came from an unsigned band it wouldnt have so over-anticipated the way it was for metallica. I mean it just wasn't the expected metallica, if a band otherwise would have put it out it might have been a different kinda strange story. Most of the time when something is highly anticipated you can get just what u expect or get less. thats why its so hard for bands to be consistent especially like metallica, it common sense.

No it would have still sucked like Tom Cruise at a gay p0rn convention. A bad album is a bad album, regardless of who the schmucks were who made it. The band the bad album came from should not affect the rating in the least. What you are using is essentially the continuation of the same logic fanboys use on my to tell me that Master of Puppets deserves at least a 4.

It's really getting to the point where it's just a clash of opinions. Nobody can win this argument. But by god don't call me a Metallica fanboy I only have two of their freakin albums, haha. Master of Puppets, which I enjoy a lot and The Black Album which I think is merely average heavy metal.
By the way BFHurricane I might buy this soon just so I can formulate a good opinion on it.

This album is so bad. I love Metallica but after listening to this for a 3rd time and not figuring out what they were trying to accomplish, I gave it to a friend....... he gave it back. i could not get rid of it... I use it as a coaster on my desk. A testament to what can happen if you think too hard.

There are too many negatives here, you try to like it but it's impossible. Hetfield's vocals, the production, many of the songs are too long. If it was a new band with their first album you could understand, but these guys are kings and just dropped the ball badly. Nothing will ever overshadow the brilliance of their first four albums, but this was average at best.

I acrually liked this one. Much better than Load or reload, and a couple songs sounded alomst like the amazing thrash of old(Frantic). Not all that bad
