"RTJ3 is essentially the Run the Jewels manifesto, an outpouring of rage and defiance that never loses sight of the objectives: rallying the troops, holding all accountable, and toppling oppression."
Pfork summary. Every damn thing they write is political these days.

What's bnm? Also, still disappointed by this. Was going to see them next month when they come to town, but I've seen them twice and most of this isn't doing much for me.

I think it's more reasonable Pitchfork saying this is a tiny shade less impressive album than RtJ2 than the backlash here. Most criticisms are 'I don't need any more RtJ and I've moved on from this sound'. Fair enough but that's not really an opinion on the actual quality of this particular album.

Eh.
I think the fact they're trying to be even more ~political~ destroys a lot of the good will I had for them. (How fucking corny are some of these bars/tracks) I also think EL-Ps production is much less enjoyable than on their previous efforts.

Honestly, if this was their first release people would be creaming themselves. This is a faaaaaar superior album to RtJ1 esp in terms of production. It might be a little too much of a continuation of RtJ2 but I think it's more consistent and a smoother ride. Production is great for me, tracks like Ticketron and Thieves really impress me in that regard.
