Heard it 3-4 times and I have to admit that it I enjoy it less with each listen. At first listen, it almost excited me because I expected it to suck and it admittedly has its fair share of riffs, some good songs and James' best vocal performance since the Black Album probably. However, I just can't get past the fact that it's essentially Black Album/Load/Reload material but not as good. If Fixxxer was on here it would probably be a standout and if the second part of this one was Load's second half it would be much better than the first part of the album.

tl;dr album's good but I just can't see how it's better than Load and, to me, the reason for the love it gets is that it caught most of us by surprise.

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying this more the more I hear it. Different strokes.

funny I consider the second half of load to be inferior to the first half

he didn't say the second half of Load is superior to the first half of Load. quite the contrary... i think he meant that had the second part of Load been Hardwired's disc 2, it would still have been better than Hardwired disc 1. he considers the first half of Load too good to even compare to. if that's the case [2]

Some of these solos totally blow though. I mean I know Kirk lost his phone and all but come on.
