FINALLY got my vinyl of this. Dunno why it took so long, more than a month after release.
Oh well. Got an obnoxiously bright yellow shirt with it as well, that'll be fun to wear to shows and the like.

Casey goin hard on the story of this record and clarifying some stuff from the previous ones. pretty grim stuff but I love how it ends tbh

"'The only way you can get bigger than your band being backed by a full orchestra is getting as small as possible. I think that could be where we go for the next one.' Later: 'In the next year or so we'll probably be touring for a new album - it won't be Act VI.'"
hype hype hype
I hope this is that Indigo-ish project he's said he wanted to do for a while
in other news, some of those details and another listen this morning have convinced me to bump this up

I'm lost for words at the reception for this. Surprised there aren't more people saying this is boring. Straining my mind to think of a single notable chorus on the entire album, and I actually do like some of their stuff. the act 2 or 3 had some good stuff (the tank comes to mind)

how many times you listen? I was fairly lukewarm on my first few listens, also thought there weren't many strong hooks, but it was a huge grower. I'd also argue that the storyline on this one is the best in the series, so I don't think longtime fan hype should come as much of a surprise.

From what I've heard I can identify with this, but I'm withholding judgement until I give the whole thing some serious listening. The Tank is an awesome track for sure.

And with this album I finish my feverish trip today. Should have started by Act I, dammit, this is good.

It took me quite a few listens to truly get into this album. Act IV was a lot more immediate in terms of catchiness, however, I agree this is the most mature LP of the series. It's amazing how Casey and the band managed to surpass such an excellent album like Act IV. I am stoked to listen to the final act.
